My favorite crushed limestone/dirt trail in which I access other dirt trails is currently on plan to be paved (they got a grant for it). I don't want it paved as there are some steep inclines and declines (with not much correcting room), making many intersections dangerous for runners if bicycles traverse these areas. I am currently on the board so to speak in terms of providing feedback to revisions to the trail, but was curious what you would do if you had the same thing happen. _________________ bad monkey! no banana! |

I always hate when they pave crushed rock. They did it on part of the greenway here, near my office. The crushed rock which was softer and near zero maintenance is now gone, replaced by crumbling, buckling asphalt.
I always thought that they did this to make the trails more handicap accessible.
I imagine it's pretty hard to fight the Americans with Disabilities Act. _________________ The tangents are moot. The anvil is a little irony. |

That sucks about your trail. I think they're doing it out here to encourage more people to bike (even though we already have ~60+ miles of paved trails around the area and there are already paved trails that access the college).
I am hoping perhaps I can convince them not to it, as there are 3 spots along the trail that have steep grades to where it's going to be problematic when descending down the trails.
You'd be wrong in terms of fighting the ADA. I have a couple of legs up on them. _________________ bad monkey! no banana! |
